It looks like the wait is almost over;  Hip Hop mogul 50 Cent is scheduled to drop a New Album this summer. Recently 50 announced on Twitter that he would be dropping his new, as-of-yet untitled LP on July 2nd. Via Twitter, he had this to say regarding the New Project,

“My album is coming out july 2. I got some heat trust me I’m ready”.

“My birthdays july 6 so that’s a cool date for ME. Its gonna be july2 album, july4 independence day, then july6 my birthday”.

It is rumored that 50 Cent has been in the studio lately working on tracks for his newest LP, and will be releasing a official Single very soon. The South Side Jamaica, Queens MC also boldly declared that the New Album would be even better than his classic, multi-platinum-selling debut “Get Rich or Die Tryin”. I guess we will have to wait until July to find out. Stayed tuned to GoodFellaz TV for more details, and to hear 50 Cent’s new music first.

It looks like Ne-Yo is making the transition from artist to executive. The ‘Grammy Award’-winning singer has been named the Senior Vice President of A&R for the legendary Motown Records imprint, making the move from his long-time home Island Def Jam Records.

According to a statement release on January 25th, Ne-Yo’s new home will be the iconic brand first created by Berry Gordy in 1959, both as an artist, and now as an executive. In his statement Ne-Yo had this to say,

“I’m honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it,”

The singer/songwriter, who’s debut album “In My Own Words” dropped in 2006 on Def Jam, will now be releasing his fifth as-yet-untitled album through Motown, which, along with Def Jam, is also a part of the Universal Music Group umbrella. Ne-Yo will also be bringing his Compound Entertainment imprint over to Motown as well.

Island Def Jam & Motown chairman/CEO Barry Weiss had this to say about the move,

“His track record of success at Def Jam will always be a benchmark. But this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012.”

Recently Rapper Cassidy was arrested in Hackensack, NJ allegedly for violating his probation. Furthermore Cassidy, whose real name is Barry Reese,  is also suspected of being involved in a murder and two attempted murders in Philly as well, according to sources in the Philadelphia Police department. 

According to these sources Cassidy, who was at his home in the Jersey City, NJ at the time, was pulled over for a “felony motor vehicle stop” and advised that he had a warrant out for his arrest. The 28-year-old Philly rapper is currently being held in the Bergen County Jail and will shortly be extradited to Philadelphia.
