Hip-Hop legend Andre “Dr. Dre” Young suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday January 4th. Dre was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where sources close to him confirmed he was taken into the ICU, were he remains. While his condition is currently stable, doctors are keeping the music mogul for further observations and testing.
As of now, no reports have been release regarding the cause and severity of the aneurysm. However in an encouraging development, The D-R-E was able to post on his Instagram account Tuesday night, and reported that he is,
Doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon.”
Dr. Dre’s health scare come at bad time. His marital problems with his estranged wife Nicole Young continue into the New Year as well. She recently filed for divorce on the grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences’, also accusing him of cheating and battery. And word-on-the-street is that the Aftermath Records founder has now agreed to pay his estranged wife nearly $2 million in ‘temporary spousal support’, according to multiple sources. Reportedly, he signed this latest agreement with his estranged wife from his hospital bed.
To make matters even worse, not long after word of his hospitalization got out, Dr. Dre’s mansion in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles was ‘virtually burglarized’ late Tuesday evening. Allegedly a group of men were seen surveying the home by Dre’s home security, who confronted the suspects, causing them to leave the scene. Police were notified, and later spotted a SUV thought to be connected to the alleged robbery, giving chase. The suspects were taken into custody, and investigators later found a backpack with burglary materials inside the vehicle. Dr. Dre has yet to respond to the news while he is recovering.
Sending the music tycoon well-wishes, many stars have taken to social media to express their sentiments. Former N.W.A member Ice Cube asked fans to send their love and prayers. LL Cool J, Charlie Puth, Eminem, Ice T, and Ciara also showed love via Twitter and Instagram. And longtime friend and collaborator Snoop Dog shared a video of his performances with Dre, captioning,
GET WELL DR.DRE WE NEED U CUZ.”
