It looks like Eminem is still able to move some serious units!
The numbers are in, and Em destroyed the competition in album sales, moving 792,000 copies of his latest album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in his first week, snatching the #1 Spot on the Billboard Charts, and registering the second-biggest sales week of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The sequel to Eminem’s classic “The Marshall Mathers LP” didn’t perform nearly as well as it’s predecessor, (“The Marshall Mathers LP” sold 1.76 million copies in it’s first week), however it did surpass the 1st-week totals of his last 2 albums, 2009’s “Relapse” (608,000) and 2010’s “Recovery” (741,000). Slim Shady’s newest project also was streamed over 10 million times in its debut week, according to Spotify. It also knocked Drake to the third-best debut of 2013, his latest album “Nothing Was The Same” sold over 658,000 units in its 1st week. “MMLP2″ is Eminem’s 7th #1 Album of his career.
