Hov is back! Check out the New Samsung Commercial where Jay-Z announces his New Album “Magna Carta Holy Grail”, due to drop July 4th. The commercial was aired during Game 5 of the NBA playoffs between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat, and alongside S. Carter boasts appearances from Rick Rubin, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz & Timbaland, who are featured in the studio working on the new project.
Word-on-the-Street is that Samsung has purchased 1 million copies of Jay’s new album, and plans to have it available to Samsung Galaxy smartphone users for free 72 hours before its official release via a new app. Rumor has it that Samsung paid $5 apiece for the albums. As-of-yet there is no word if Nielsen SoundScan, the organization responsible for recording album sales, will count the Samsung purchases in its sales data.
