Apparently “Swish” wasn’t a ‘slam-dunk’ in the album title department, so Kanye West decided to change the name- again!
Only a few days after releasing the track-list for his highly anticipated upcoming 7th LP via Twitter, Yeezy decided to change the album title yet again, this time to “Waves”. This follows his previous name-change from “So Help Me God” to the recently announced “Swish”, only a few weeks ago.
And with the latest change-up Mr. West did indeed stir-up some ‘waves’, as some people had mixed feelings about name, including Wiz Khalifa– who also took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the title- igniting a brief-yet-vicious Twitter-tirade from ‘Ye. Also the originator of the term ‘wavy’ Max B himself had a few things to say regarding the title via Twitter and a newly-remixed song entitled “My Wave (A Message For Kanye West), which you can listen to below:
The name change apparently is the result of more musical inspiration from Kanye, who has recently been in the studio with a diverse assortment of artists including 2 Chainz, Diddy, Kid Cudi, Swizz Beatz, French Montana, Earl Sweatshirt, and even the legendary gospel artist Kirk Franklin. And the infamous note-pad containing the track-list has continued to evolve as well, as you can observe numerous ‘tags’ from a host of big-dogs below:
The new LP from Mr. West is still set to drop February 11th on Def Jam Records, and Yeezy has already laced the streets with 2 teaser records from the new project “Real Friends” & “No More Parties In L.A.” featuring Kendrick Lamar.
