Dancers: I hear a lot of you referring to this as a hustle. I hear you say you’re hustling. Or you’re grinding. Or you’re trapping. You’re right. This is a hustle. This is a grind. This is the trap. Figuratively and Literally. (That’s a subject for a whole other post.) But in your quest to hustle as hard as you can, you have lost sight of a couple of things. As much as this is a hustle this is still a craft. It takes a certain skill set to really excel in this field. You being attractive isn’t enough. There are countless women with pretty faces and nice shapes (And with the right amount of money, you can purchase whatever face and shape you want these days….lol). There are a bunch of office workers, waitresses, and cashiers that would look very nice in a two piece and heels. Truthfully, the reason so many ‘square chicks’ believe that they can do what you do is because they see you are not taking being a ‘dancer’ seriously. So now you have an influx of women believing they can dance because they think it doesn’t require any skill. The only ones that can change that is YOU. If you were as serious about your craft as you are about your hustle, things would be better for all of us!

Today’s racism isn’t like the racism of our grandfather’s era. That blatant, in-your-face, type of racism has been frowned upon for decades. Everybody is politically correct now. The blatant racism has been replaced by a thinly-veiled racism. It’s in how they look at you when you walk into a store. How they assume you can’t afford the item you are looking at. How they assume you won’t tip them at a restaurant after they’ve handed you the bill. How they clutch their pocketbooks and move their children when you walk close to them. How they assume who’s the victim in an altercation.

They won’t say you’re an animal. But the first person they will point to when something happens is YOU. Then when they realize they were wrong, their entire demeanor changes. You hear how surprised they are when the find out you are educated. They change their tone when they realize you make more money than they do. They want to shake your hand when they realize you were the one breaking up the fight, not starting it. But by that time they have already shown you who they think you are. Racism isn’t dead. It’s alive and well. It’s just harder to see.

Ever been cheated on? Hey, it happens to the best of them. However the real question is, who’s to blame? Them? Or YOU?!?

Some of you are so busy blaming the cheaters that you have forgotten YOU were the one in the relationship with them. I mean, there are some good liars out there. But there aren’t that many. You mean to tell me, you were attracted to this person who can’t keep their pants on. Dated this person who can’t keep their pants on. Had sex with this person who can’t keep their pants on. Got engaged to this person who can’t keep their pants on. Got married to this person who can’t keep their pants on. Had kids by this person who can’t keep their pants on. And had NO IDEA what kind of person they were??? Come on. He’s not THAT good. Hell you act like your lover puts on the Ethan Hawke face mask from “Mission Impossible” every time he comes home to you. Come on he’s a regular dude; not James Bond. Even Jason Bourne would have gotten found out by now. Things couldn’t have been that terrible or you would have let that go way before the relationship got so serious. But you won’t admit that. So admit this… YOU weren’t PAYING ATTENTION. There’s no way you could have let a person like that play you if you were on your ‘A game’. If you were, you would have either:

A: Saw your partner really couldn’t keep their pants on and terminated the relationship before it started.

B: Saw you had a decent relationship but there was a void somewhere so you communicated and filled it. Or…

C: Saw you had a decent relationship but there was a void somewhere and you just couldn’t fill it so it was time to go your separate ways.

But guess what? You didn’t do any of those. So be mad at your ex for being no good. But also be mad at yourself for allowing yourself to be taken for a ride for that long. This way, while you’re busy being angry, you may actually learn something to prevent there being a ‘next time’……
