Varn Curtis is back, and he wants ALL the Smoke!!

Already on his second project of 2021, Varn continues to revolutionize ‘loud pack rap’ with the release of his latest musical offering, the “Roll Another One” EP.

This time the Queens-bred emcee has linked up with famed lo-fi producer OS Arcade to cook-up 5 tracks of brand new heat to feed the streets, just in time for 4/20.

From the simplistic anthem “DopeMan”, where Varn deems himself the ‘Dime Bag Don’, to the DMX-flavored “F*cked’em All”– an ode to his female ‘achievements’- the Southside Queens artist once again delivers with kush-infused rhymes laced with the sour diesel instrumentals, providing one helluva high!

Building off the momentum of the new project, his current single “So High” (produced by Todee) has been burning up the streets and local smoke sessions  as well with it’s infectious beat and melody.

It looks like Dame Dash just can’t catch a break these days. Word-on-the-street is that rapper Currensy is suing his once-partner Dame Dash, the troubled co-founder of Roc-A-Fella, for around $1.5 million.

Currensy (aka Shante Scott Franklin), who has his own popular brand Jet Life Records, hit Dash with the lawsuit for allegedly releasing his music without permission or any compensation. According to sources within both camps, Dame Dash and Currensy were in the midst of negotiating a record label deal back in 2010. Word is, the deal fell through between the two, and the New Orleans MC ended up signing a deal with Warner Brothers Records instead. However Dame Dash still went on to release Currensy’s cult-favorite albums “Pilot Talk 1″ & “Pilot Talk 2” through his own imprint on Universal Music anyway.

When asked recently about the allegations, Dame Dash responded by claiming he still had the rights to release “the albums in question because he was given permission.” The Rocafella co-founder also stated that Currensy ‘played him’ by “reneging on their agreement and signing instead with Warner Bros.”

The project seemingly came to be out of nowhere; Word-on-the-street is that Styles P reached out to Currensy for a feature, and later the two MC’s linked up in New Orleans for a legendary studio session that brought about the forthcoming 5-Song EP. It seems like Suge Knight just can’t stay out of trouble. According to authorities, the infamous former-Rap Mogul is facing an upcoming court date this March in Las Vegas, following reports of a recent arrest and a misdemeanor drug charge.

Knight, the 46 year-old former CEO of the legendary Death Row Records, was stopped while driving a black Bentley just off the Las Vegas Strip, where he was issued a ticket for an unsafe lane change. Supposedly he also was charged with possession of less than one ounce of a marijuana in the car as well; he was soon after released from lock-up without bail.

Suge Knight, who along with fellow legends Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg & 2pac, helped Deathrow become one of the most successful (and feared) Record Labels of the 9o’s. He was at the wheel of a car when ‘Pac was shot and killed in 1996 in Las Vegas. Since then however, the former-mogul’s hip-hop empire fell on hard time; the debt-ridden label eventually went bankrupt and was later sold in an auction.

Snoop Dogg & “Mr. Black & Yellow” Wiz Khalifa put on a legendary show at Terminal 5 in NYC to celebrate the release of their collaborative Movie & Soundtrack “Mac & Devin Go To Highschool”, which dropped December 13th on Atlantic Records. And of course the good folks at GoodFellaz TV were there to bring the concert to YOU.

The soundtrack, led by the current hit single and video “Young, Wild & Free”  featuring  Bruno Mars, has the sound and feel of a 2011 Redman & Methodman “How High” project.
