Comic book fans rejoice. Sony Pictures is ready to start production on a Venom Movie. The LA Times has reported that Sony is in negotiations with Chronicle’s director, Josh Trank, in the hopes of having him bring the Marvel Comics favorite to life.

The movie will star Venom, a gooey alien symbiote that fashions itself into a suit with a love/hate relationship for Spider-Man. Movie goers will remember Topher Grace donning the suit as Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3, while fanboys would like nothing more then to forget it. Spidey 3, for the most part, left web in our face and the reboot to the franchise is a breath of fresh air. Sony and Marvel have given movie buffs something “Amazing”  to look forward to, but are they jumping the gun with Venom, considering The Amazing Spider-Man hasn’t even been released yet?

The production has a few challenges to overcome to insure this isn’t the case. Priory should be being picking the right character to wear the suit. In the Marvel Universe, a few men (and one woman) have worn Venom and picking the right one is crucial to pleasing movie goers and fanboys alike.

The obvious choice would be to put Eddie Brock “Back In Black”, but even that leaves some options. The “Amazing” Universe’s Eddie Brock, is Peter Parker’s rival reporter at The Daily Bugle; The “Ultimate” Universe’s Eddie Brock is a friend of the Parker family. “Ultimate” Brock seems more likely considering Peter and Eddie’s parents discovered the symbiote together.

Another good choice could be Flash Thomson; star of the current Venom comic book series, for a year now, Flash has been given the symbiote by the U.S Government to carry out espionage missions. Choosing Flash would turn Venom’s potential villain storyline into that of a hero.

Picking the right man to suit up is important but when it comes to Venom, one must keep in-mind, unlike real life in this case, the cloths really does make the man. Venom needs to be powerful, he needs to be dark, gritty, and conflicted. He needs to be everything he wasn’t in Spider-Man 3. Venom was mishandled in SM3 and this is probably why this film idea to got scraped back in 07. Hopefully Sony has learned from their mistakes and possibly picked up a thing or two from other franchises. Wolverine has lengthened the X-Men series and Venom can do the same thing for the Spidey franchise if, and only if, he is allowed to grow on his own and not be overly constrained by the new Spider-man films.

It seems like rapper T.I. just can’t stay out of trouble. After being released from prison early and scoring a reality show all in the same day, T.I, added one more accomplishment to his day: getting sent back to prison.

How did he manage to get locked-up again in the same day? According to the authorities, T.I. violated his parole by simply chosing the wrong way to travel from Arkasas (where he was imprisoned) to Atlanta (where he was set to begin production of his new reality TV series). Allegedly T.I.P. and his entourage made the 375-mile trip to ATL in a chauffered luxury bus, followed by a caravan of four black SUVs.

The problem was, in order for the often-troubled rapper to make the trip using his own transportation, he had to file a petition. However in his request, T.I. allegedly stated that he’d be making the commute in a van. Apparently the authorities considered this to be a violation, claiming that he lied about his transportation arrangements- a transgression that apparently landed him back in federal custody.

However according to T.I.’s legal council, the situation was all a misunderstanding, releasing this statement,

“We are confident there was never any intent to mislead or to misstate the method of transportation. If there was some confusion or misunderstanding surrounding the method of transportation, we hope to clear it up quickly so T.I. can return to the halfway house.”

T.I. was previosly scheduled to check into an Atlanta half-way house, where he was set to start filming for his upcoming VH1 series, after spending the last 10 months at an Arkansas federal pen for previosly violoating his parole. Hopefully for hip-hop fans across the world, the situation can be rectified. If not, it’s possible that T.I. could remain locked up in Atlanta until his sentence was originally scheduled to end, Sept. 29. 

At the time of the incident, a VH1’s camera-crew was with T.I. on the bus filming during the transit between Arkansas and Georgia. However if the “King of the South” is forced to serve the rest of his sentence, their cameras will not be allowed inside the prison. His upcoming reality-show, which will be based on T.I.’s adventures readjusting to life as a free man, was initially scheduled to debut this winter.

The rubber band man arrived at the facility fresh as ever, in a luxury bus followed by a 4 car entourage.  He didn’t waste time to notify the public and took to twitter to announce his freedom;

Dead Island made a splash on the Internet with over 2 million views of its artsy and visually stunning depiction of a family being torn apart by a hoard of hungry zombies. There’s a lot of hype surrounding this game, which is extremely rare considering it isn’t a sequel. But it wouldn’t be the first time a game collapsed under the pressure of its own hype. With that in mind, GoodFellaz TV is jumping the gun again to bring you a preview of next weeks blockbuster game: Dead Island (Sept 6).

Dead Island is an expansive open world, first person, action adventure, horror game (please take a moment to let that all marinate). Its story thus far has been kept under wraps but can probably be summed up as such: Palms Resort, in fictional Banoi, was a vacation paradise until zombies started showing up. You play as one of four survivors mysteriously immune to the cooties (or whatever gives you Zombie-itis). The four fearless characters are: Xian Mei (Assassin), Sam B (Tank), Logan (Jack of all trades) and Puma (leader).

The four characters will each have a unique upgradeable skill set.  This means over time you will transform your character from a timid pedestrian to a one-man zombie genocide! The best part is that all four characters can come together in online co-op play, meaning you and three other zombie killing enthusiasts can come together and wreak havoc on an island full of the undead. We all know killing zombies ainʼt fun, if the homies canʼt get none!

Getting down to the wet-work, killing zombies will be done with anything you can get your hands on or are clever enough to create. The game is melee and close quarter combat heavy, but will also feature guns and vehicles, all of which can be upgraded. Ammo, as in any zombie game, will be scarce so you’ll find yourself picking up a boat oar more often then a 9mm. Your weapons, as well as yourself, will wear down after excessive use. Both your stamina and weapon will need to be maintained in order to ensure your not left defenseless in the heat of battle. 

Dead Island hopes to bring a refreshing take to the flooded zombie genre. With unique gameplay, like character classes, upgradable abilities, and an open world with more varied environments then you can shake a sharpened stick at, Dead Island intends to distinguish itself from similar games. However, buyer be weary, just because it isn’t a sequel doesn’t always mean it isn’t a clone. I’m holding my decision (and breath) until Sept 6.

An unknown source has announced that season 2 of the show will feature Kimbella, Juelz Santana’s girlfriend and mother of his 10-month old son. The two met on twitter and have been virtually inseparable since. Shouts to them social networking sites!

So who is Kimbella? She is a model, or shall we say vixen, who’s been in videos for such artist like, Pitbull, Lil Jon, and even some of her main man Juelz’s, to name a few.  She’s graced the pages of Smooth, XXL, Black Men, Urban Ink, and will be featured on the cover of Black Men’s Ink Candy and also Strapp Magazine, just in time for summer.  Busy girl right? In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com she stated, “I’m trying to transition into acting and singing. I’m launching my pop career, and as we speak I’m recording in the studio.  My sound is definitely not Beyonce, but more of a Fergie, Rihanna type sound.”  Something tells me we are going to be seeing and hearing alot more of Juelz’s main lady.

If you’re a fan of the show you know that the main “Love & Hip Hop” relationship is that of Chrissy and rapper Jim Jones.  Jimmy and Juelz are like brothers and it’s going to be entertaining to watch the Dipset front-runners interact with their females and more so the females interact with each other. Word is season 2 has already begun taping with most of the original cast members returning. Can’t wait!

Street Fighter has been an international phenomenon since Ryu and the team first graced arcades in 1987. Since then Street Fighter has enjoyed the success of being one of the greatest selling video game franchises of all time. But how does this pillar of gaming hold up in 2011 and an even better question, what does the new Arcade Edition bring to the table?

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition can be purchased as a stand-alone title or can be downloaded as a Super Street Fighter IV update. If you already have SSFIV you really won’t be missing much by not downloading it, but if you haven’t gotten yourself a copy of the arcade brawler now is the best time, especially with the recession friendly price of $40.

The Arcade Edition doesn’t offer much to distinguish itself from its predecessor and because of this, they feel the same. Arcade does however fix the balancing amongst the original 35 SSFIV characters, making the playing ground even for all. Arcade also tweaks the online multiplayer option allowing Arcade owners the ability to fight SSFIV players.

The majority of new content is in the form of four new characters, which brings the total roaster to 39 fighters you can throw down with. The Yun and Yang twins (Street Fighter III) make their return. Ryu has finally accepted the ”dark-side” and fans couldn’t be happier. Evil Ryu is a force to be reckon with and is considered one of the most powerful players in the game, but not to be outdone, Oni (evil-”er” Akuma) is a fiercer version of Akuma with enough hadokens to make opposing players break controllers and storm out shouting they “need air”.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition isn’t a stand-alone Street Fighter game but really a deluxe version of Super Street Fighter IV (Think of your favorite DVD…right “GoodFellas” mine too, well this is the BLU-Ray version). However Arcade is the most complete Street Fighter to date and should absolutely not be missed by hardcore fans. For everyone else this would be a great update or even a wonderful entry point into the series. So why are you standing around? “Are you Ready? FIGHT!”

This past Sunday, America watched as the new Miss USA was crowned for the 60th year in a row. Miss California, Alyssa Campanella, won over the line-up of judges who included stars like Lil Jon, Maverick’s Tyson Chandler, and Real Housewives of NJ’s, Caroline Manzo. The fiery red head beat out the other 50 contestants in three categories.  For swimwear she strutted across the stage in a tiny blue polka dot bikini.  Next, she wowed the judges and audience in a stunning dark green beaded evening gown and then answered a question about legalizing marijuana from Caroline Manzo for the interview segment.  The 21-year old, 5’9 beauty, nailed every aspect of the competition and won her title as Miss USA 2011 accordingly. Miss Tennessee Ashley Durham was the first runner-up, while contestants from Alabama and Texas placed third and fourth.

Alyssa, originally from Manalapan, NJ, was a former Miss Teen New Jersey, and Miss Teen USA 2007 runner up.  She stated she has been doing pageants since she was 15 and at 16 began modeling.  By 2009 she had already became the face of “Wet N Wild” Cosmetics. An extremely intelligent young woman, Alyssa graduated high school a year early and received a scholarship to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in Manhattan where she studied acting. Oh and that gorgeous red hair? Not natural. She’s originally a blonde but had to dye it 6-years ago for a role she had in a play, and decided to keep it that way.  Great choice!

The sold-out Summer Jam 2011 concert went down Sunday June 5th at the Meadowlands Stadium in NJ, and of course GoodFellaz TV was on the scene. Anyone who has ever been to Summer Jam before knows that half the fun is outside of the event, where hundreds of people come to tailgate, chill, and mix & mingle.

The actual concert also did not disappoint. Although lacking the big name surprise appearances or shocking beef incidents of years past, the show was definitely entertaining from start to finish. The artist line-up this year included Wiz khalifa, Wacka Flocka, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous, Chris Brown, Dip Set, Lil Wayne, Lil Wayne, Drake & Rick Ross. Other surprise guests included Mobb Deep, Diddy, Jeremih, Busta Rhymes and Ryan Lesli, among others.

Highlights from the concert included Lloyd Banks, who had one of the better performances that night, bringing out Mobb Deep, Lloyd, Jeremih, Swizz Beatz & Juelz Santana. Also Chris Brown had the ladies in a frenzy as he performed his set. One of the highlights from his show was bringing out Busta Rhymes for “Look At Me Now”. The Dip Set reunion was also another highlight of the evening, as Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Freekey Zekey & Vado all hit the stage to perform their hits. Cam & Vado’s “Speaking In Tungs” was a big hit, and Maino & Travis Porter came out as well during their performance.

The highlight Summer Jam 2011 was Lil Wayne & Young Money’s performance & Rick Ross, who was the last act. Highlights from their set included “Bed Rock”, “6 ft, 7ft” with Weezy & Cory Gunz, and the debut of a new song from Lil Wayne called “How To Love”. The hottest song of the whole concert was definitely “I’m On One” where DJ Khaled, Drake & Rick Ross came out along-side Lil Wayne. It was also a good set-up for Rick Ross set.

The boss Ricky Rosay was the last act of the night, and he did not disappoint. He did all of his hits from “Hustlin” to “9 Piece”. Highlights from his set include “I’m Not a Star” with Wayne and the “Hustle Hard” remix where Ace Hood came out. Summer Jam 2011 was definitely a great night for hip hop. And lets not forget the GoodFellaz TV Street Team, who literally shut down every other record label on the promotions-tip. Check out photos and footage from Summer Jam below.
