The Doughboy Project aka DJ Doughboy has been a staple in the New Jersey music scene for many years. As a producer, he alongside his team The OG’s have been considered by many to be among the pioneers of the popular Jersey Club music movement. He’s toured the world with Joe Budden, and has lended his talents to a variety of artists over the years including Queen Latifah, Naughty By Nature, Maino, Vado, DJ Self, MariahLynn, Rick Ross, and Fabolous, among others.

His debut EP, the critically acclaimed “Introduction”, was featured in the ‘Huffington Post’ and gained the New Artist Spotlight on Tidal. And now he’s back with the club-certified banger “Body”, which is the first single off his upcoming follow-up project entitled “Anticipation”, which is set to drop June 25th on all digital platforms via Water Muzik Entertainment.

One of the pioneers of the New Jersey music scene, DJ Doughboy aka The Doughboy Project has been a constant fixture in clubs throughout the Tri-State for many years. More than just a DJ, Doughboy has produced, written for, and remixed songs for some of the biggest artist in the game; he’s written for Queen Latifah, been Joe Buddens’ tour DJ, produced records for Power 105/Love & Hip-Hop’s own DJ Self, just to name a few accomplishments.

After years behind the scenes, DJ Doughboy recently inked a situation with Smack Productions/Water Music Publishing to finally release a project of his own. “The Doughboy Project” is a fusion of House, R&B, Hip-Hop, and EDM, that is guaranteed to keep the speakers rattling. The R&B heads will love the melodies, The Hip-Hoppers will gravitate to that bottom and the House/EDM fans will recognize the groove.

“Never Change” is a series based on the character “N.C.” who is played by Jameel “Chaos” Laboo. He’s a good guy who only wants loyalty. But after the death of a childhood friend who’s he suspected of murdering, an all-out war breaks out. On the run from a detective chasing an arrest, N.C. must navigate the harsh realities of his world while trying to stay alive and free at the same time. In the blink of a eye his life changes. Everyone is dying around him. The team he once trusted seem suspect. A friend he grew up with is now his biggest rival.

“Never Change” will bring you into a world full of deceit, death, and ruthlessness. N.C. will make you love him, and hate him at the same time. His main rule in life was to stay loyal and let that Never Change. But will it really be that easy?

Check out the GoodFellaz TV ‘New Video of the Week’ from Jersey artist Chad Piff, who keeps things trippy with his latest video for his hit single “Mahogany”. Chad Piff aka ‘The Modern Day Hippie’, along with producer/artist P.Carrera, deliver a visual full of carefree, flower child vibes while decked in Lo-Life gear. This is the first single off his currently untitled upcoming project, this record is setting the tone for what’s to come.

As an artist, the Chad Piff began to explore his musical inclinations even further and started to produce his own music before he even graduated out of High School. He is a songwriter who produces his own music. Some say that he is talented, while others simply know him to be gifted because of his addictive yet unique unorthodox style of music. He creates what he considers genre less music. You cannot just call his music rock or hip-hop or any one genre. Instead, it is a fusion of the arts, merged into one sound, one that Chad Piff has crafted himself.

The numbers are in and Fetty Wap, perhaps the biggest artist of the summer, debuts on the Billboard Charts at…#3 ??

That’s right, the man who has pretty much dominated radio over the summer with 4 Billboard ‘Top 10’ hits underwhelmed industry expectations, moving only 74,609 copies of his self-titled debut album in 1st week sales. The Paterson, NJ native came in at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts, beaten by a pair of country singers Don Henley (84K) and George Strait (82K) respectively.

How is this possible? Based on industry projections, record label insiders were expecting Fetty’s album to move around 300,000 units in the first week. Indeed, Fetty Wap went from one-time ‘underdog’, to one of the hottest names in music. His album, which is actually very good, was supposed to be a ‘sure-thing’.

Not that he is a disappointment, far from it. Debuting at #3 on the Billboard charts is still a big-deal, and the singer has enjoyed enormous success via radio airplay, single’s downloads, and music streams, not to mention having one of the biggest records of the year with the infectious “Trap Queen”.  And just as important, Fetty has also put New Jersey (and by extension New York as well) back on the hip-hop scene, in an era where ‘down-south’ rap has been dominating the charts for some time now.

So what happened? Are we just seeing Fetty Wap fatigue, after a summer where it seemed like ALL you heard was Fetty on the radio, seemingly on every station. Perhaps many fans felt like they already heard his album after months of radio domination. Or perhaps in 2015, the one-eyed singer is just an example of a ‘Single’s Artist’, similar to the Flo-Rida wave that gripped much of radio during the late 2000’s.

I guess only time will tell. Congratulations to NJ’s own Fetty Wap for his strong debut on the charts. Stay tuned to GoodFellaz TV for all the latest info on this story.

Nucci Reyo “Jesus Piece”

GET FAMILIAR: NUCCI REYO

Nucci Reyo, now known by his fans as ‘The Kings Kid’, first developed his love for Hip Hop at the age of 10. In 1999, while performing in a teen club, Nucci grabbed the attention of Union Label executives to whom he later signed a production deal and released his first collaborative single “Roll Wit Us” which received video rotation on ‘Rap City’.

In 2000, MCA Records executive Don Pooh, recognized Nucci as a lyrical mastermind and offered financial backing for Nucci’s first solo album “American 21”. Following the release of “American 21”, Nucci began getting heavy nods from executives throughout the industry performing at shows with ‘heavy-hitters’ such as Nas, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne. Recognized as a true lyricist, Nucci has also collaborated with various industry ‘big dogs’ including  P Diddy, Lil Flip, Havoc (of Mobb Deep), Raekwon, Gillie the Kid, Carl Thomas, Marques Houston, and R.Kelly, among others.

In June 2007, Nucci’s all-around musical gift led to his being cast in the hit gospel play entitled, “Donʼt Count Me Out”. During this experience, ‘The Kings Kid’s’ life was impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he became born again; it was then that his life was catapulted into a new direction and a new message was birthed in his heart. Since then Nucci has committed to yielding his gift to God and his music now breathes a fresh anointing destined to impact a generation.

Since then Nucci has starred in the Hip Hop Musical Divine Intervention, which ran for 6 months in 2010. This powerful musical is part of The White Flag Movement, which is a Movement led by Nucci and promotes the concept of the ‘Hip-Hop generation’ surrendering to God.
