Wiz Khalifa Has # 1 Rap Album In US, Engaged To Amber Rose (??)

It looks like Black & Yellow fever continues !! Wiz Khalifa’s New Album “Rolling Papers” debuts as the #1 Urban Album in the country, #2 Album in the country overall according to Soundscan. Featuring the hit singles “Black and Yellow” & “Roll Up”, the Pittsburg MC sold an impressive 197,307 copies in his first week, excellent numbers in the current hip hop climate of 2011. By comparisson, the legendary Snoop Dogg’s “Doggumentary”, which also debuted last week, only scanned 50,479 units.

Wiz Khalifa, who has been romantically linked with Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, was recently spotted with an “AMB” tattoo, and it is rumored that the pair have even gotten engaged as well. On a recent interview on Hot 97 last week, Khalifa said this regarding Amber Rose:

It’s pretty serious. I really dig her. People think it’s an image thing and that we’re just doing it to be crazy, but like, for real, it’s just two great people meeting at a good time. We just like to crack jokes and stuff like that. She’s very down to earth, she’s very realistic, and that’s the way I am. Just seeing stuff for what it is and not being blinded by the lights…I’ma be with her.”

Music wise, Wiz Khalifa continues to do his thing, his current single “No Sleep” is #6 on the Digital Charts with 134,753 downloads last week, and his smash “Black & Yellow” has sold over 3 million downloads to date. He was recently named MTV’s “Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010”, beating out fellow freshman-heavyweights including Nicki Minaj and J Cole.
