Rapper Action Bronson has been creating quite the stir in the rap game as of late. The master chef, turned master MC has only been whipping work since early 2011,  but that hasn’t stopped this Flushing, Queens native from serving up several masterpieces in that short time. Bronsolino (Brän-sō-lēn-ō), as he’s known, has been dropping studio albums & mixtapes so steadily, so speedy, and with so much flavor one has to wonder; is he cheffing these creations up in the lab or in the kitchen? Bronson’s latest entree “SAAAB STORIES” (produced by Harry Fraud) is a happy medium between the polished sounds of Alchemist collabo “RARE CHANDLERS” and the gritty, no fucks given attitude of “BLUE CHIPS” (#7 on Complex’s ‘The 10 Best New York City Rap Albums of the Past 10 Years’ list). The only problem with SAAAB STORIES is its short serving size which has hungry Hip Hops heads lines up for more.

Bronson’s sound has quite often been compared to Ghostface Killah’s, while his playful diction has shades of Big Pun. His gritty non-stop rapping reminds us of Kool G Rap; but while Hip Hop heads argue and try to get a bead on Bronson, he’s most likely in Milan or the U.K doing #RareSquates (kinda like planking but for husky people) with a huge smile emanating from his gigantic red beard, just loving the fact that in just a couple years time he’s already being compared to Hip Hop Idols of that magnitude.

Though Action Bronson’s flow can be compared to others, his look and sense of humor is ALL his own. Bam-Bam (as he’s ALSO known) doesn’t look like your average rapper, but then again, “what’s a rapper”? This husky Albanian has a “red beard, big blue eyes, a strange look”, as he put it. Even so, Hip Hop heads haven’t held it against him. The game is more open minded now and more accepting to different rappers, as long as they bring some new flavor into this bland rap era and right now, no one’s been spicing the game up more than Action Bronson.

Max Payne will be making his gritty return May 15. Max Payne 3 marks the third installment to the Rockstar franchise, known for its amazing bullet-time gameplay and it’s dark, noir-type narrative. After the woman he is hired to protect is kidnapped, Max must shoot his way through the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil in an attempt to rescue this femme fatale.

Max’s run and gun style of shooting is back (along with his pill popping ways) but this time it’ll be mixed up with a new cover system that should make things more tactical. Max’s ability to duel wield weapons has also been re-imagined to include gun combos that have only been dreamed of before. How does an uzi in your left hand and sawed-off shotgun in the right sound, for example? Another new addition is Max’s ability to fire in 360 degrees from the prone position, great for cleaning up any thugs you might have missed after some slow motion hang time.

The game looks great graphically, but the real feast for the eyes maybe Max’s fluid animations in some potentially awkward positions. You can tell a lot of attention has gone into Max when he balances heavier guns while duel wielding or as he shifts his weight, while on his belly, to get a better fix on enemies.

Also for the first time in the series, Max Payne 3 will feature multiplayer and not just as an after thought, but as a full experience with full character progression, clans, and custom load out options.

The Max Payne series has always done a great job of coupling an intriguing and riveting story with fantastic bullet-time gunplay to create an intense cinematic experience, and this new title looks to follow suit. It has been almost an entire decade since we last slowed down time with Max but we got a little taste when the March release was delayed to May. Hopefully, unlike what is in store for the people in Max’s sights during bullet-time, it will be worth the wait.

Dead Island made a splash on the Internet with over 2 million views of its artsy and visually stunning depiction of a family being torn apart by a hoard of hungry zombies. There’s a lot of hype surrounding this game, which is extremely rare considering it isn’t a sequel. But it wouldn’t be the first time a game collapsed under the pressure of its own hype. With that in mind, GoodFellaz TV is jumping the gun again to bring you a preview of next weeks blockbuster game: Dead Island (Sept 6).

Dead Island is an expansive open world, first person, action adventure, horror game (please take a moment to let that all marinate). Its story thus far has been kept under wraps but can probably be summed up as such: Palms Resort, in fictional Banoi, was a vacation paradise until zombies started showing up. You play as one of four survivors mysteriously immune to the cooties (or whatever gives you Zombie-itis). The four fearless characters are: Xian Mei (Assassin), Sam B (Tank), Logan (Jack of all trades) and Puma (leader).

The four characters will each have a unique upgradeable skill set.  This means over time you will transform your character from a timid pedestrian to a one-man zombie genocide! The best part is that all four characters can come together in online co-op play, meaning you and three other zombie killing enthusiasts can come together and wreak havoc on an island full of the undead. We all know killing zombies ainʼt fun, if the homies canʼt get none!

Getting down to the wet-work, killing zombies will be done with anything you can get your hands on or are clever enough to create. The game is melee and close quarter combat heavy, but will also feature guns and vehicles, all of which can be upgraded. Ammo, as in any zombie game, will be scarce so you’ll find yourself picking up a boat oar more often then a 9mm. Your weapons, as well as yourself, will wear down after excessive use. Both your stamina and weapon will need to be maintained in order to ensure your not left defenseless in the heat of battle. 

Dead Island hopes to bring a refreshing take to the flooded zombie genre. With unique gameplay, like character classes, upgradable abilities, and an open world with more varied environments then you can shake a sharpened stick at, Dead Island intends to distinguish itself from similar games. However, buyer be weary, just because it isn’t a sequel doesn’t always mean it isn’t a clone. I’m holding my decision (and breath) until Sept 6.

Jump The Gun will deliver accurate previews of very hyped games coming out within the coming months. The rest of the year will be incrusted with so many great games, it’d be easy to loose track and have a diamond fall through the cracks. With that in mind, the good folks at Goodfellaz would to like to present the first Jump The Gun and it’s “kick off” preview of Madden NFL 2012 (August 30th)

Another season of football is upon us (thank god) and while the players and owners can barely see eye to eye, EA has made sure ours will be visually pleased with new 3D grass. Other visual upgrades include better uniform deterioration. This means your warriors of the gridiron will show more battle damage as the game proceeds. Madden 12 will also feature more realistic NFL camera angles. The new camera work will attempt to make you feel like your watching a game instead of playing one. Whether it ends up being the most hated new feature, or works so well your opponent will get a freebie because you forget to move your player, is still yet to be seen.

Visually things usually get better with Madden, but gameplay can be a different story. So far things look good with the addition of a new tackle animation system which hopefully will make the game more fluid by attempting to get rid of any players moonwalking and/or snapping into position right before tackles.

Last years GameFlow feature will make its return. GameFlow is like a suped up version of Ask Madden. Think Ask Madden if John Madden was actually in the room with you (creepy I know, but an affective metaphor non the less). Using GF will also shave precious time off your games while still presenting fun fluid gameplay. This feature is a favorite for casual players but the addition of custom play books will offer something for the guys (and gals) calling out sick on the 30th.

Possibly the best addition is to the online community. It now allows you to compete in many different custom community leader boards. You’ll be competing for ranking and bragging rights. Play against your neighbors to see who’s the best on the block or take a shot at being the king of your campus. The sky’s the limit

Madden NFL 2012‘s Preseason starts today with the demo being released for download on Xbox Live and PSN. While EA Sports hasn’t really done much lately to impress football fans maybe this years additions will make all the difference. With that being said lets get down to the facts on file. It’s the new Madden we’re talking about, you know if you want it or not
