I was in the booth with a popular radio dj a couple of years back and I asked him if he wanted to get on. He declined and I told him “Sometimes you have to do it for the sport”. There are millions of people that had the same dreams; but never made it to where we are. We’ve been blessed to be able to make the money that we make doing what we do. I remember when we loved to do what we’re doing now. We begged to get on the set. We begged to be able to rap in a cypher. Real talk.

Now we’re too good to touch the turntables or grab a microphone unless were getting paid. Now I understand promoters love to get people to do something for free. You can’t be everywhere doing shows and not getting compensated properly. But every now and then you have to take it back to the essence. We used to love to do this. What happened?
