Apparently the world famous Def Jam Records decided not to play it “S.A.F.E.”, signing internet sensation Trinidad James to a record deal allegedly worth over $2 million.

That’s right, the Atlanta rapper whose viral smash-hit “All Gold Everything” has had the ‘internet going nuts’ for the last couple of months, has recently inked a deal with Def Jam. The 25-year-old Trinidad James, who has admittedly only been rapping for 10 months, was originally born in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago — which is where he got his name.

Regarding the signing, Def Jam Records President Joie Manda recently had this to say regarding Trinidad James in a recent interview with Billboard Magazine:

“We’re excited to welcome a young talent like Trinidad James to the Def Jam family. Def Jam prides itself as both a cornerstone of hip-hop’s rich tradition, and as a vital, forward-thinking label dedicated to breaking and nurturing emerging artists. Trinidad James represents the cutting-edge of what’s happening in the culture today. We are thrilled to have him at the label, and look forward to growing his already massive buzz.”

What do you guys think about Def Jam signing Trinidad James?? is it a smart move, or is he just the latest internet fad to burst on the scene. DOWNLOAD his Street Album “Don’t Be S.A.F.E.” below and check out his video for “All Gold Everything” on GoodFellaz TV.
