DESSI

– Interviewed by Tommy Gunz (@DJTommyGunzNJ)

Showcasing talented females ‘doing their thing’ in the industry, each month the GoodFellaz pick the “Bad Girl of the Month”. Featuring Models, TV/ Radio Personalities, Actresses & Female Entrepreneurs, the “Bad Girl of the Month” is a combination of Beauty, Brains & Hustle.

This month’s “Bad Girl of the Month” is the smokin’ hot Dessi Nitti. Reppin’ Brooklyn to the fullest, this super-sexy hustla has been taking the NYC entertainment business by storm; corporate thuggin’ in the office of rapper T.I.’s Akoo Clothing by day, and redefining the Public Relations game by night. Recently GoodFellaz TV’s own Tommy Gunz got a chance to sit down with Ms. Dessi Nitti, where we talked about everything: what’s hot in fashion, what new hip hop artists she’s feeling, how she got into the industry, her Turn-on’s, and more. Check out her exclusive interview below, only on GoodFellaz TV.

Bad Girl of The Month Dessi Nitti 2

Q: Well first things first, Dessi you’re definitely hot. What’s your nationality?

A: I’m Hot? Well thank you. (Smiles). I am Puerto Rican, Black and Italian.

Q: Where are you from?

A: Born and raised in New York, The borough I rep is “Brooklyn”!!!!!

Q: So you’re buzzin’ in the streets right now, tell us about all the things you got going on?

A: Well you know I’ve been working with Akoo Clothing for a little while now. And I started my own Branding Solution Agency with 2 other females: Chae Butta and Marie Driven. Our company is called PlayBookmedia Group. We are a Creative Agency Located in NYC. Right now we are building our clientele trying to take-over the Market. As a managing partner and Senior Branding Developer I have a crazy way of thinking, So I bring a good amount to the table. Look out for us at WWW.PLAYBOOKMEDIAGROUP.COM

Q: Dope! You’re doing big things I see. So how did you get involved with Akoo Clothing?

photo 2A: So one day Mel Testamark (of Akoo Clothing) walked into my store; at the time I was working at the Sprint corporate store on 42nd & 6th. Anyway Mel saw the ambition I had, while activating his phone I was breaking down the way I think when it comes to Branding and Marketing a Product. He was amazed. I told him my background and who I used to work with back in 2006-2009.

Mel said “I normally don’t do this for a lot of people but I see something in you. Yo Dee, come check this event in the city”. I was like “Sure, where is the event is located?”. Mel said it was in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, my neighborhood. So I went, and as it turned out, it was Swizz Beatz private birthday gathering. I was like “holy fucking shit”! From that moment on I knew this was the team I wanted to rock with; to learn from and to gain experience with. I am Team Akoo! (Fist Pumps).

Q: That’s a real story! So before Mel, who inspired you to want to get into the entertainment industry?

A: Growing up, I always wanted to be a part of the entertainment industry; whether being a hip-hop dancer, Audio Engineer, or a designer. I would have to say my grandmother really inspired me. She believed in everything I did. She never judged me on my career path. RIP to my Grandmother, shout-out to her for always having my back. Usually people say Biggie, Jay, & ‘Pac, I say my Grandma! 🙂

dessi 1Q: Okay, so what’s Your Sign?

A: I am a Libra, my birthday is October 9th. We are the BEST sign out here (smiles and fist pumps). We are laid back and chill; just don’t get on our bad side, that’s all I’m gonna say (laughs).

Q: That’s what’s up! So not only are you a true hustla, you’re also smokin’ hot. The fellaz across the world want to know: Single or Taken?

A: Yes I hustle real hard. Like that Rick Ross song “Everyday I’m Hustling” (laughs). I learned that from my parents, who are both hard-working individuals.

Oh and sorry fellaz, I am taken! 🙂

Q: Do you find it hard to be in a relationship in your line of work? Is always being ‘on the scene’ ever a problem?

A: To be honest, not really. Whether you’re working at Wendy’s, or you are a police officer, or you’re grindin’ in the industry, it just depends on the person you’re with, and them understanding that your particular line-of-work is very time consuming.

photo 1Q: True! So what are some of your “Turn-On’s”?

A: I like it when a person knows how to carry themselves. You have to have a sense of style in order for me to notice you. First impression is everything. Especially if you want the key to my heart (smiles).

Q: What are some of your “Turn-Off’s?

A: Turn Off’s, Hmmmmmmm (laughs). I hate when people clip their nails in front of me. Gross! (laughs). Also people that chew gum really loud. I can’t stand that shit (laughs). Keepin’ it real.

Q: (Laughs). So being that you’re in the Fashion & Music circles, what advice do you have for aspiring fashion designers/ or artists trying to get in the game?

A: I would say that if you are serious about your passion, push really hard, and don’t let anyone hold you back. You make your own future, not the person next to you!

photo 6Q: Being a ‘Brand Strategist’, how important is the Internet and social media in your line of work?

A: Looking back from when I was 16, I probably wouldn’t have cared much about social media; back then magazines were everything. As time has progressed however, the Internet and social media are now super-important in my line of work. Without you guys, we’re nobody (laughs).

Q: Of course. So what’s the best part about your job?

A: The best part of my job is meeting new people every day. I am very sociable, friendly and outgoing (smiles).

Q: What’s the worst part about your job?

A: Hmmmm, I wish I could say. To me it’s a lifestyle. To me, a ‘job’ is sitting behind a desk at a 9-5; now that I would hate. Overall, I love what I do.

1374725_427509457348946_231908006_nQ: Okay so music-wise, who are you feeling right now? Are you a hip-hop fan?

A: I am a true Hip Hop fan Tommy. Currently I am feeling both Kendrick Lamar and Troy Ave.

Tommy Gunz: That’s what’s up!! You are a real Hip Hop fan I see!!

Dessi Nitti: You know this!!! (smiles)

Q: So are you a Party-chick or more of a Homebody?

A: I would say a little bit of both. It depends on my mood and where I’m going. For the most part, if that special somebody is home, I would rather chill out and cuddle with my boo 🙂

Screenshot_2014-01-25-11-42-10Q: So what makes Dessi feel extra-sexy??

A: Hmmmmm (smiles). A candle-light dinner and a bubble bath with a glass of wine. Can’t forget some old school R&B (winks).

Q: I like that. So being a fashionable chick, what’s going to be a good look for the ladies in 2014?

A: Pretty Pastel-colors. This spring trend is going to be amazing.

Q: The Best show on Television is _______?

A: My favorite shows are ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Scandal’, ‘American Horror Story’ and of course ‘The Walking Dead’. Best shows on TV!!!

Q: Okay, so who is your celebrity Crush?

A: I have a few and there all are females. Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lopez, Taraji P. Henson, Alicia Keys, and Eva Mendez. I admire these women there very talented and beautiful

Tommy Gunz: Niiice!! You can’t go wrong with any of those women!

Dessi Nitti: That’s what I’m saying! (laughs)

Q: So whats next for Dessi Nitti? What are your other goals for the future?

A: I would say hosting a Fashion and Music segment on MTV, VH1 or BET. Or maybe on all 3, you never know (winks).

Q: I like the ambition. Do you have any Shout-outs before we go?

A: Shout out to my company Playbook Media Group, and Mel Testamark from Akoo. And thanks to you guys for showing me love.
